35 On initiation, the newly admitted Mason must pay the initiation fee prescribed by his Lodge in its by-laws. Every initiation has to be notified to the Grand Secretary of the. United Grand Lodge, who will enter the name of the newly admitted Mason on the Register of the Grand Lodge and who will, if applied to in due form, issue a Certificate to that effect. (Rule 174). The Grand Secretary has also to be informed each year of the effective membership of every Lodge. (Rule 146).
